Structure:

The Miniwell L610 employs a 3-stage filtration process to transform fresh running water into great-tasting water without the need for chemicals, electricity, or UV light.

  • Stage 1: 0.1 Micron UF Pre-Filter blocks larger particles such as sand, rust, silt, and bacteria, extending the lifespan of the carbon filter and UF membrane.

  • Stage 2: Carbon Fiber Filter effectively removes unpleasant tastes, odors, and residual chlorine, as well as heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium) due to its large surface area.

  • Stage 3: The 0.01 micron UF filter effectively removes protozoa (like Cryptosporidium and Giardia) and bacteria (such as Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, and E. coli), as well as known viruses (including Enteric, Hepatitis A, Norovirus, and Rotavirus), providing up to 1000 liters of safe drinking water.

UF Features:

The L610 Ultra-filtration filter uses advanced UF Hollow Fiber Technology with a 0.01 micron membrane:

  • Water flows naturally through the pores from the outside in, under low pressure.
  • Suspended particles and high molecular weight materials cannot pass through the membrane, ensuring only clean water and beneficial minerals remain.
  • This technology is also used in large municipal water treatment facilities.
  • The UF membrane can be backwashed to extend its lifespan, with a design that facilitates easy backwashing. Proper maintenance can yield significantly more than 1000 liters of filtered water.

Product Details:

Easy to Use:

  1. Place the inlet hose in a fresh water source (e.g., river, lake, rain).
    • Use the float to keep the pre-filter off the bottom and away from sediment.
  2. Place the outlet hose into a clean water container.
  3. Start pumping by moving the handle up and down.

Cleaning Instructions:

  • Clean the L610 filter cartridges with clean water after each use:
    1. Remove the pre-filter from the inlet hose.
    2. Place the inlet hose into clean water and pump until the water runs clear from the outlet hose.
    3. Reattach the pre-filter and pump until the water is clean from it.
  • For deeper cleaning, rinse the UF filter with mouthwash and shake to dislodge particulates (note: only rinse the carbon filter with clean tap water).

Replacing Filters:

  • Prefilter Replacement: Remove and reinstall a new pre-filter.
  • Carbon and UF Filter Replacement:
    1. Unscrew the UF filter counter-clockwise and remove the assembly.
    2. Align lock pins and pull the UF filter away from the carbon filter.
    3. Insert the new filters and screw tightly into place.
